Jin Li, Ed.D.
Associate Professor of Education and Human Development
Professor Li's main focus in her research is to study how children across cultures and ethnic groups develop learning beliefs, how they are socialized in this development, and how their beliefs influence their actual learning and achievement. Her research involves preschoolers, schoolchildren, and college students. She is also interested in children's self-concepts in learning. Her newest project, a 2-year longitudinal study (2006-2008), is entitled "Chinese Immigrant Children's Learning Beliefs and Related Socialization at Home. This project will follow 50 middle-class and 50 low-income 4-year-old Chinese immigrant (CI) children and their mothers for two consecutive years.
